Virginia insurance carriers are required to follow both state and federal laws regulating Medicare Supplements. Plans are standardized and must provide the exact coverage mandated. The only variance is the premium and how the premium is calculated.
All Medicare Supplements sold in Virginia provide the same general benefits, however, some provide more gap coverage. This lets you to select the plan with the amount of insurance you want.
Each carrier markets the policies it deems best. Insurers:
- Are not required to offer every plan
- Must offer Plan A
- Must also offer Plan C or Plan F
