The Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospital Survey is a standard questionnaire for adults on their recent inpatient experiences with hospital care in medical, surgical or obstetric departments. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) use the survey results as part of its Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting program requirements. Results are also used to grade or score hospitals across the country. Data from survey results can be viewed at the CMS??? Hospital Compare website at http://www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov.
